C36000

C36000 is a free-cutting brass alloy commonly known as Free Machining Brass. It is widely used in the manufacture of components requiring excellent machinability, such as screws, bolts, precision parts, and fittings.

• Zinc (Zn): Balance (typically ~35-36%)

• Lead (Pb): 2.5 - 3.0%

• Iron (Fe): Max 0.35%

• Total of all named elements: Minimum 99.5%

• Tensile Strength: 360 - 500 MPa (52 - 72 ksi), depending on temperature

• Yield Strength: 125 - 350 MPa (18 - 51 ksi)

• Elongation: 10 - 30%

• Hardness: Rockwell B60 - B78 or Brinell 70 - 150, depending on temper

• Density: 8.5 g/cm³

• Electrical Conductivity: ~26% IACS at 68°F (20°C)

• Melting Point: 1630 - 1650°F (887 - 899°C)
