CW609N is a free cutting forging brass alloy known for excellent machinability, strength, and corrosion resistance. It is commonly used in mass production parts for builder hardware components requiring good hot working capacity and durability.

Properties and Applications
High machinability with lead acting as a lubricant and chip breaker
Good corrosion resistance, suitable for builder hardware, gas fittings, valve bodies, plumbing fixtures, and industrial hardware
Excellent hot workability; poor cold workability
Suitable for soldering and brazing, welding is not generally recommended
