C37710 is a free machining forging brass alloy known for good forgeability, corrosion resistance, and moderate strength. It is composed mainly of copper, zinc, and lead with small amounts of iron and other trace elements.

Tensile strength and elongation values vary depending on the manufacturing process and temper.

Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: Around 11.5 x 10⁻⁶ per °F
Modulus of Elasticity: Approximately 15,000 ksi
Modulus of Rigidity: About 5,600 ksi
Fabrication Properties
Excellent solderability and good brazability
Welding is generally not recommended except for butt welding
The capacity for cold working is poor, but it has excellent hot formability
