C23400 is a red brass alloy also known as CuZn15, CW502L, or 85/15 brass due to its composition of approximately 85% copper and 15% zinc. It is distinguished by its excellent corrosion resistance, moderate strength, and good machinability.

Suitable for soldering, brazing, oxyacetylene welding; not recommended for coated metal arc welding
Excellent cold forming and moderate hot forming capabilities
