C27200, also known as yellow brass or CuZn37, is a copper-zinc alloy with about 62-65% copper content. It is one of the primary brass alloys used for cold forming processes due to its good strength, corrosion resistance, and formability.

• Lead (Pb): Up to 0.07%

• Iron (Fe): Up to 0.07%

• Proof Stress: Around 275 - 385 MPa (varies by temper)

• Elongation: Around 10-20%

• Hardness: Typical range 56-70 HRB depending on size and temper

Fabrication and Machinability

• Excellent cold forming properties (drawing, forming, bending, shearing, spinning, swaging)

• Poor hot forming capacity

• Good corrosion resistance

• Moderate machinability compared to free cutting brass alloys
