CZ119

CZ119 is a high-leaded brass alloy widely used for its excellent machinability and good mechanical properties. It typically contains 61-64% copper and 1-2.5% lead, with the balance being zinc. CZ119 is suitable for hot stamping and applications where subsequent machining is extensive. Its ductility makes it ideal for manufacturing wires, rods, and sections.

• Tensile Strength (UTS): Minimum 340 MPa

• Elongation: Minimum 15%

• Hardness: Approximately 90 HV

• Melting Range: Solidus ~1630°F (888°C), Liquidus ~1700°F (927°C)

• Electrical Conductivity: Approximately 26% IACS at 68°F

• Thermal Conductivity: Around 67 BTU/(ft²·hr·°F)

• Specific Gravity: 8.47

Fabrication and Applications

• Excellent machinability (machining index 100%)

• Suitable for hot stamping, forging, and extensive machining

• Recommended for parts with limited cold working such as knurling

• Used for wires, rods, sections, and precision machined components
