CW623N
CW623N is a brass alloy also known under designations such as CZ130 and CW624N, classified as a high-strength, leaded alpha/beta brass.
Chemical Composition
Copper (Cu): 55.00% - 57.00%
Lead (Pb): 1.60% - 3.00%
Aluminium (Al): 0.05% - 5.00%
Zinc (Zn): Balance
Other elements in trace amounts
Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength: 350 - 420 MPa
Proof Stress: 150 - 220 MPa
Elongation: 20% - 30%
Hardness: 90 - 120 HV
Physical Properties
Density: 8.44 g/cm³
Melting Point: Around 890°C
Thermal Conductivity: 109 W/m.K
Fabrication and Application Notes
Excellent hot workability, often formed via hot extrusion into complex profiles
Fair to poor cold working capabilities
Very good machinability rating (~90% compared to free-cutting brass Alloy 360)
Good corrosion resistance in various environments
Welding generally not recommended
