C69300

C69300 is a lead-free red brass alloy also known as Eco Brass or Copper Alloy UNS C69300. It contains a high copper content of approximately 73-77% and is alloyed with silicon, phosphorus, tin, nickel, and manganese to enhance its corrosion resistance, machinability, and mechanical strength.

• Silicon (Si): 2.7% – 3.4%

• Phosphorus (P): 0.04% – 0.15%

• Lead (Pb): Maximum 0.09%

• Iron (Fe): Maximum 0.01%

• Tin (Sn): Up to 0.20%

• Nickel (Ni): Up to 0.10%

• Manganese (Mn): Up to 0.10%

• Zinc (Zn): Balance

Mechanical Properties

• Tensile Strength: Approximately 80-90 ksi (550-620 MPa)

• Yield Strength (0.2% offset): Around 50-55 ksi (345-379 MPa)

• Elongation: Around 10%

• Hardness: Brinell 75-80

• Density: About 8.3 g/cm³ (0.3 lb/in³)

• Melting Temperature: Solidus ~1571 °F, Liquidus ~1616 °F

• Electrical Conductivity: Approx. 8% IACS

• Thermal Conductivity: About 21.8 BTU/sq ft/ft/hr/°F

• Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: Around 10.3 × 10⁻⁶ /°F

Fabrication and Uses

• Excellent corrosion resistance, particularly dezincification and stress corrosion cracking resistant

• Lead-free, environmentally friendly alternative to traditional leaded brasses

• Suitable for machining, forging, and hot working with a machinability rating approx. 85%

• Commonly used in valves, plumbing fittings, water meter components, and pump parts
