HBSC4

HBSC4 is a high-strength brass alloy known under Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) and often referenced as a copper-zinc-aluminum-manganese-iron alloy. It is characterized by a combination of high tensile strength, good wear resistance, and toughness, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications.

Chemical Composition of HBSC4

• Copper (Cu): 60.0 – 65.0%

• Aluminium (Al): 5.0 – 7.5%

• Iron (Fe): 2.0 – 4.0%

• Manganese (Mn): 2.0 – 4.0%

• Zinc (Zn): Balance (remaining majority)

• Nickel (Ni): Traces up to about 1.0%

• Lead (Pb), Silicon (Si), Tin (Sn): Present in small trace amounts

Mechanical Properties

• Tensile Strength: Around 755 MPa (about 110 ksi)

• Elongation: Approximately 12%

• Brinell Hardness: About 200 HB

• Density: Approximate range of 7.5 to 9.3 g/cm³
