HTB3

HTB3 is a high-tensile-strength brass alloy known for its excellent wear and abrasion resistance, making it suitable for heavy-duty components under high loads. It has an all-beta phase structure with a grain-refining phase, resulting in very high mechanical strength compared to other high tensile brasses such as HTB1 and HTB2.

Chemical Composition of HTB3

• Copper (Cu): Minimum 55%

• Zinc (Zn): Balance (major component)

• Aluminium (Al): 3.0 - 6.0%

• Iron (Fe): 1.5 - 3.25%

• Manganese (Mn): Maximum 4.0%

• Nickel (Ni): Maximum 1.0%

• Lead (Pb): Maximum 0.2%

• Tin (Sn): Maximum 0.2%

• Silicon (Si): Maximum 0.1%

• Phosphorus (P): Trace (up to 0.03%)

• Others: Maximum 0.2%

Mechanical Properties

• Tensile Strength: Approximately 740 - 810 MPa (around 107,000 - 117,000 psi)

• Yield Strength (0.2% offset): About 400 - 470 MPa

• Elongation: 11 - 18%

• Hardness: 150 - 230 Brinell Hardness Number (BHN)

• Density: Approximately 8.2 g/cm³
