HTB1

HTB1 is a high tensile strength brass alloy conforming to BS 1400 standards, chemically classified as CuZn35AlFeMn. It is also known under EN 1982 as CC765S and ASTM B505/B584 standards as C86500. This alloy is recognised for its good corrosion resistance, high strength, and cost-effectiveness compared to other high-strength alloys.

Chemical Composition of HTB1

• Copper (Cu): Minimum 55%

• Zinc (Zn): Balance (typically around 35%)

• Aluminium (Al): 0.5 - 2.5%

• Iron (Fe): 0.7 - 2.0%

• Manganese (Mn): Up to 3.0%

• Nickel (Ni): Up to 1.0% (includes cobalt)

• Lead (Pb): Up to 0.5%

• Tin (Sn): Up to 1.0%

• Silicon (Si): Up to 0.1%

• Other impurities: Max 0.2%

Mechanical Properties

• Tensile Strength: 470 - 570 MPa

• Yield Strength (0.2% offset): 170 - 280 MPa

• Elongation: 18 - 35%

• Hardness: 100 - 150 Brinell Hardness Number (BHN)

• Density: Approximately 8.33 g/cm³
