HTB2 

HTB2 is a high tensile strength manganese brass alloy conforming to Indian Standard IS 304. It is known for its good mechanical strength, toughness, and moderate machinability, suitable for machinery parts requiring durability and resistance to wear. It is typically used in valve parts, pump components, and general engineering applications.

Chemical Composition of HTB2 (IS 304)

• Copper (Cu): Minimum 55%

• Zinc (Zn): Balance (remaining majority)

• Aluminium (Al): 3.0 - 6.0%

• Iron (Fe): 1.5 - 3.25%

• Manganese (Mn): Up to 4.0%

• Lead (Pb): Maximum 0.2%

• Tin (Sn): Maximum 0.2%

• Silicon (Si): Maximum 0.1%

Mechanical Properties

• Tensile Strength: Minimum 740 MPa (approx. 107 ksi)

• Elongation: Minimum 11%

• Hardness: Typically around 150-160 Brinell Hardness Number (BHN)

• Density: Approximately 8.3 g/cm³

• Electrical Conductivity: Around 19% IACS at 68°F
