C65100

C65100 is a low-silicon bronze alloy, also known as Copper Alloy B or Silicon Bronze B. It is a copper-based alloy with notable corrosion resistance, moderate strength, and excellent brazeability and weldability.

Chemical Composition

• Copper (Cu): Balance (~98.5%)

• Silicon (Si): 0.8 – 2.0%

• Iron (Fe): Max 0.7%

• Lead (Pb): Max 0.05%

• Manganese (Mn): Max 0.8%

• Zinc (Zn): Max 1.5%

• Tensile Strength: Approx. 380 - 585 MPa (varies with temper)

• Yield Strength: Approx. 140 - 380 MPa

• Elongation: 6 - 12%

• Hardness: 60 - 90 HRB

• Modulus of Elasticity: Approx. 117000 MPa

Physical Properties

• Density: 8.75 g/cm³

• Melting Range: Solidus ~1032°C, Liquidus ~1060°C

• Electrical Conductivity: Approx. 12% IACS

• Thermal Conductivity: Approx. 33 Btu/(ft·hr·ft²·°F)

Fabrication

• Excellent brazeability and weldability (gas shielded arc, spot, seam)

• Good machinability (rating 30%)

• Suitable for hot and cold forming

• Electrical conduit, rotor bars, pole line hardware

• Fasteners such as bolts, screws, rivets, and nuts

• Hydraulic pressure lines, oil refinery plumbing, heat exchanger tubes

• Marine hardware, boat construction fasteners
